FAQS

Experience and Qualifications

How long have you been in business, and what experience do your walkers have?

We’ve been in business since 2018. All of our walkers are well-versed in handling a variety of dogs, regardless of size or temperament.

Are your dog walkers certified in pet first aid and CPR?

Yes, all of our walkers are certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. In addition, they are double certified through Pet Care Team Training in both dog walking and pet sitting

Do your walkers have experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments?

Absolutely! Each of our walkers has experience with dogs of all sizes, from the smallest breeds to the largest. While we are equipped to handle different temperaments, we do not take on dogs that are aggressive or those that are leash reactive.

Service and Availability

What services do you offer besides dog walking (e.g., feeding, playtime, medication)?

In addition to dog walking, we offer several helpful services, such as bringing in packages from your doorstep, cleaning up your dog’s waste, and tidying any messes they may have made. We’re also happy to administer any medications your dog may need.

Can you accommodate my dog’s special needs, such as behavioral quirks or health conditions?

Absolutely! We know that every dog is unique, and we are more than happy to accommodate special quirks or preferences. Whether your dog prefers ice cubes in their water or enjoys a treat on their favorite bed after a walk, we’ll make sure they feel comfortable and cared for.

What is your schedule, and do you offer walks on weekends or holidays?

Our dog walking services are available midday, Monday through Friday. For any special requests outside these hours, please feel free to contact our office, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Safety and Security

How do you ensure my dog’s safety during walks (leash policies, group sizes)?

We take safety seriously, and before we even leave your home, we make sure that all leashes and harnesses are fitted correctly and securely. What sets us apart is that we offer private dog walks only—no group walks or visits to uncontrolled environments like dog parks. This ensures that your dog gets the focused attention and safety they deserve. Additionally, all of our walkers are trained in dog walking safety as part of their certification.

What is your protocol in case of an emergency, either for my dog or the walker?

In the event of an emergency, we follow a three-pronged protocol: first, we immediately notify our clients to keep them informed. At the same time, we alert our office for backup and support, and if necessary, we will take your dog to the vet. We handle everything from start to finish to ensure your pet is cared for.

Are you insured and bonded in case something happens to my dog or my property?

Yes, we are both insured and bonded, so you can have peace of mind knowing that you and your pet are protected.

Walk Details

How long are the walks, and how much time will my dog actually spend walking versus travel or preparation?

Our visits typically last around 30 minutes, and the timer starts the moment we walk through your door. The actual walking time may vary depending on your dog's needs, such as refilling water, feeding, or cleaning up any messes. We focus on ensuring your dog gets what they need during our visit.

Do you walk multiple dogs at once, or will my dog receive one-on-one attention?

We only walk dogs from one household at a time, so your dog will receive our full attention. If you have multiple dogs and prefer them to be walked individually, we can certainly accommodate that—though it may result in shorter walks.

Will the same walker be assigned each time, or do you rotate walkers?

While we strive for consistency, we cannot guarantee that the same walker will be assigned each time. This is due to vacation time, sickness, and availability. We will try our best to assign the same walkers to the best of our ability.

Communication

How will I receive updates about my dog’s walk? Do you send photos, videos, or a report?

You will receive updates about your dog's walk through the Time To Pet app. In the app, you’ll get a detailed report about your dog’s activities during the visit, along with photos and/or videos.

How do I communicate with the walker if I have questions or special instructions for the day?

You can communicate directly with your walker through the Time To Pet app, or if you prefer, you can reach out to our office for assistance.

Can I request specific time slots for walks, or are the times flexible?

You are welcome to request specific time slots, but we cannot always guarantee availability. Instead, we will provide you with an arrival window to ensure flexibility.

Cost & Contracts

Do you offer any discounts for frequent walks or multiple dogs?

We offer discounts for more than three walks a week, week after week. We do not charge extra for additional pets because we believe in spreading the love, not the fees!

Is there a contract or service agreement I need to sign? What’s your cancellation policy?

You'll sign a service agreement when you sign up, and it's available for review on our website. Our cancellation policy allows changes for weekly dog walking clients up to 24 hours before the scheduled walk. If you cancel within that window, the visit rolls over to the next week. For last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours), there is a 100% charge and the sitter still is paid.

Do you charge extra for last-minute bookings or changes to the schedule?

We don’t charge extra for last-minute bookings, but if you’re a new client needing a consultation within 48 hours, there’s a $50 rush fee that goes directly to the sitter. Existing clients just need to give us written notice with schedule changes at least 24 hours in advance.

Health and Exercises

Do you have any requirements regarding my dog’s vaccinations or health before starting walks?

Since we are a private dog walking company and don’t visit dog parks, we don’t have any specific vaccine or health requirements.

How do you handle dogs that are high-energy or need more exercise?

High-energy dogs are always a blast for us! We’ll happily throw the ball and keep them moving until their tongues are hanging out with joy.

What happens if it’s raining or the weather is bad—do you still walk the dogs?

Yes, we walk dogs in rain or bad weather! If it’s raining, we’ll do our best to dry them off afterward. However, we do have a cold weather policy: if it’s below 10 degrees, we won’t walk dogs for their safety and ours. If you have a preferred way to dry your dog after a wet walk, feel free to leave out instructions for us.

Training & Behavior

Do your walkers have experience with dogs that pull on the leash or are reactive to other dogs?

We prioritize safety, so we don’t accept dogs that are reactive or don’t know how to walk on a leash. This policy is in place to protect our walkers, the dogs we care for, and the community. If your dog is reactive or pulls on the leash, we’d be happy to recommend trainers we work with to help.

Can you help reinforce any training we’re doing with our dog (e.g., commands or walking manners)?

Yes, we’re happy to reinforce any training you’re working on with your dog. During the meet-and-greet, we’ll ask about the specific commands your dog knows, as we understand that every household uses different cues.

How do you handle aggressive or anxious dogs during walks?

If we encounter any aggressive or anxious dogs while walking, we will avoid direct contact by crossing the street or maintaining a safe distance to ensure everyone’s safety.

Technology and Scheduling

Do you have an app or online portal where I can schedule or monitor walks?

Yes, we use the Time To Pet app, which also has an online portal you can use to schedule your dog’s walks. It’s convenient for managing your pet’s care all in one place.

How do you handle changes to my schedule or special requests?

Schedule changes and special requests can be made through Time to Pet. Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email if the request is approved or denied, ensuring you stay informed.

Is there an option for GPS tracking or a summary of the walk’s route?

Yes, GPS tracking is available for all dog walks. After each walk, you’ll receive a GPS map along with an update of the visit so you can see exactly where your dog has been.

Reputation & References

Do you have any reviews or testimonials I can read?
